Hello good people of the internet!
Today I’m coming at you with a rundown of what I’ll be reading this weekend. If that peaks your interest, keep on reading!
The first book I’m reading this weekend is The Most Dangerous Place on Earth by Lindsey Lee Johnson. I received a digital ARC of this book for review and was super excited about it, as it was one of my most anticipated releases of 2017! This book follows new teacher Molly Nichol as she uncovers the truth behind the facades of her seemingly perfect, privileged students and the trauma that changed each of their lives in middle school. I’ve heard such rave reviews about this from everyone who has read it– not to mention the fact that Anthony Doehr, the author of All The Light We Cannot See, wrote a praising review on the cover! I’m enjoying it so far and am excited to see what happens as I get deeper in.
The second book I’m reading this weekend is the audiobook version of Girl in a Band by Kim Gordon, artist and lead singer of the proclaimed band Sonic Youth. I love listening to memoirs on audiobook, especially when they’re read by the author themselves (which this one is!). Gordon’s voice is absolutely mesmerizing, and the way she writes about her life is so poetic and stunning. I’m only about two hours into the seven-ish hour audiobook, so I’ll keep you updated on what I think once I finish!
Until next time,
